For nearly 20 years the Design Build studios of Louisiana Tech's Architecture program have been serving its community through annual construction projects. In recent years our partnership with MedCamps of Louisiana has brought invaluable notoriety and attention to our work. These life-changing, career-shaping projects are simply not possible without a large set of construction tools and safety equipment. As our program has grown, our tool inventory has dwindled as each project claims several tools and leaves others various in states of disrepair. Students, faculty and our community partners have been forced to purchase and repair tools to make ends meet in recent years.
Your donation to this campaign will help the ARCH 335 Design Build studio replenish our tool set and purchase a construction trailer that will ensure safe transportation and proper storage of the tools for years to come.
Items we hope to purchase: measuring tapes, hammers, crowbars, bolt cutters, extension cords, toolboxes, welders, gas regulators, welding hoods, welding gloves, air compressors, hoses, fittings, nail guns, cordless drills, bits, reciprocating saws, circular saws, and lastly, a 16ft trailer as well as lumber and hardware to construct shelves, bins and racks to organize everything. If you'd like to donate any of these or other items directly you can contact Brad Deal, director of the Design Build studio at firstname.lastname@example.org.
